There is still time to get registered for the Rodeo Run. Registration before Sunday is $20 and day of race registration is $25. The first 250 get a Rodeo Run T-Shirt. So get registered. Race starts at 8 a.m. The run begins and ends at Clement Taylor Park on Calhoun Avenue with an after-race party at AJ’s on the harbor. — Tina Harbuck

The new Rodeo barge arrived a little after lunch Monday afternoon behind AJ’s. Alan Laird himself pulled it around with his boat, with Bruce Cheves riding aboard the barge. More than 40 folks from throughout the community came out Wednesday evening for the Rodeo judges meeting at the Destin Community Center. What does it take to be a judge? The Destin Fishing Rodeo has a few different looks for its 63rd year. Rather than just go with one logo this year, organizers rolled out a couple different shapes and sizes. Of course, all the new looks are wearable and available at the Rodeo trailer, which will be selling shirts all October long.
